Had a great time chatting with you and look forward to your next book in the series. Anyone who is interested in mobile should check it out even if there not as hands on as you.

This book is definately a must read for small business owners. I have already gotten a bunch of great ideas from it and I've only had a chance to flip through it. I'm going to host a smallbiz/bizbookclub meeting in January based around the book as well!

Yep the hard this is to get businesses to understand that it's a good thing to change and not this crazy risky idea. Some people just can't handle the idea of trying out "the new approach" even when it ceases to be new.

I have to say that whatever you produce, make, or provide, it's ultimately all about relationships. That's why social media is powerful because it exists precisely where all the value lives. Businesses who don't get that might be very good at some aspects of what they do, but ultimately have missed the foundation of business activity and value.

If you have not read his seminal work The E-Myth you should check out this review to understand why and more importantly how he is able to do this. Then after digesting this information listen to the older book review with Doug Anderson as he talks about maximizing your life through E-Myth Mastering.

Great comments from Doug Anderson and the book is turning out to be incredibly useful! I ran out to get it shortly after hearing this session. Thanks again, Rob!

Also, J Peachy is right to bring forward the truth about a thriving business community. It can only exist in a well managed community of people and vice versa.

I read an article in Canadian paper The Globe and Mail and they indicated that Canada is experiencing a higher than usual growth of new businesses—expected because of the recession, but the numbers surprised even the most optimistic.

But this is the other part of it: In order to have a successful business community, you need a "healthy productive" community that takes care of its residents, so visionaries have an opportunity to dream and take chances building those dreams into fruitful ventures.

Very informative, a good summary for those that are too busy to read. As entrepreneurs we sometimes get took stuck in our passions which is our business and let good logic just fly by. I believe it is important to have a consistent trusted outside perspective on your business.

Friends will encourage in a lovingly blind manner, that is very dangerous. A tough-love approach takes the right person and not all can do it.

Doug's comments about taking a socially responsible way to business is important. The corporate pirates of the world have made it easy for society to paint entrepreneur of all types as distrustful.

My personal perspective is that every business should be a social venture. A genuine positive interrelationship with the community builds trust. I believe a healthy productive community leads to good business
